Uganda’s calm weather offers the best safari experience

Whenever it clocks September every year, the climatic conditions of Uganda change and calm-friendly weather is experienced. Different from other months, September is month of light rains and relatively small sunshine and this makes travelling through Uganda to its different attractions a success. Though a safari to this East African country is possible throughout the year, this month is the best for an unforgettable experience in some of the adventurous parks full of amazing natural wonders. You may probably have visited the country either on a business trip or for any other reason and witnessed that its climate is steadier than that in your home country but I doubt if you thought of how you can utilize this. Touring the numerous attractions including over 10 National Parks is one of the ways you can take advantage of the calm weather.

In case you didn’t know, there are times of the year when it’s difficult to have a good safari as expected especially during the rainy season. This is because during this time the national parks are hard to access because their terrains are muddy. Even moving through the thick rainforests in the various parks becomes a challenge due to the wetness and coldness. The wild animals also hide when its rainy as they try to look for warmth and protection from the rain.

The best time to visit Uganda for a wonderful tour is during the dry season when the parks are easily accessible. It is also during this period that wildlife viewing is a success as animals gather around different water bodies to have a sip of the water to cool their bodies. This gives visitors a chance to find the animals in a group as they struggle to take some water. An evening drive through some of the parks like Queen Elizabeth National Park is a lifetime experience which comes with great views like seeing different animals grazing in the ever-green plains.

Uganda has gained its prominence simply because of it rare tourism fraternities like the hard-to find mountain gorillas. These elegant primates are the leading attractions the country has with half of the world’s population found in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Today, the country records the highest number of trekking safaris in the world and this has helped it to improve economically. Viewing a gorilla family in the thick rainforests is a lifetime experience and this is best done during the dry season when the primates can easily be found.

Apart from gorilla tracking, there are other tourism activities which can only be a success under calm weather conditions like cultural tours, nature walks, bird watching, camping trips, hiking, wildlife viewing, city visits and many more.
