Wildlife Safaris

Uganda is sanctified with a brilliant collection of unspoiled wildlife reserves and national parks abundant with a diversity of over 500 mammal species recorded. Uganda’s wildlife safaris Uganda offers opportunities of encountering the iconic Big Five (Lion, Leopard, African elephant, Cape buffalo & Rhino) and tracking the endangered mountain gorillas in the Bwindi forest. Mountaineering Safaris

Mountaineering Safaris in Uganda are done in mainly two (2) national parks in Uganda. On the block mountain Rwenzori and dormant volcano mountain Elgon. Hiking at mountain Rwenzori will take you 3-8 days, sometimes, even more, depending on the time you want to spend on the mountain. The mountain has six (peaks) including; Mt Stanley (5,109m), Mt Speke (4,890m) Mt Baker (4,843m), Mt Emin (4,798m), Mt Gessi (4,715m), and Mt Luigi di Savoia (4,627m) with the highest peak being Margherita peak (5,109), which makes it become the third (3rd ) highest in Africa and the highest block mountain in Africa. Mountain Elgon on the other hand is an extinct volcano though the second-highest in Uganda and the fourth highest in East Africa. The highest peak of this mountain is Wagagi Peak which is 4321 meters high and there are other major peaks which are Jacksons’ summit 4165m, Kiongo 4303m, and Mubiyi 4210m. Hiking a safari to these mountains makes you visit national parks and enjoy wildlife watching.

Primate Safaris

Primate safaris in Uganda are more pronounced in the Kibale forest where Chimpanzee trekking and habituation safaris in Uganda are carried out. Primates are also viewed in Murchison falls national park,  Budongo forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Ngamba Island. The main park that is commonly visited is Kibale forest national park a home to over 1450 chimpanzees which it’s the largest population in Uganda.
