More security to be deployed around Queen Elizabeth Park

Commonly known for game viewing, Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the leading parks in Africa and because of its wonderful Tourism fraternities. It is estimated to be a home to over 100 wild animals including some rare species. However, poaching has for the past 2 years affected the par negatively as the local people kill the animals for skins, hides and many more. This has negatively affected Uganda’s tourism industry leading to depletion of some animals especially the elephants which are killed for IVORY. According to Uganda Wildlife Authority survey, Uganda lost about 20 elephants last year a thing that got the organization worried that these elegant mammals could reach their extinction.

This has prompted the government to find a way of fighting the vice which if not stopped, can lead to low revenues collected from the sector. In doing so, the government promised to train more guides and also quip them with guns and these will be deployed around the park. They will keep 24 hours a day watch over the park ensuring that no harm is caused to the animal. In her words, the minister of Tourism, Hon. Maria Mutagamba said that poachers are skilled and therefore it requires a well trained force to track them down. This is the reason why the guides are required to go through a serious training to be able to protect both their lives and those of the animals.

Uganda is commonly known for its wonderful-rare tourism fraternities and wild animals are one of the important attractions. The presence of different mammals species made this country stand out of the continent and it is referred to as the pearl of Africa. One special thing about a Uganda wildlife safari is that the animals are viewed in their natural habitats. Forget the zoos where animals are caged and visitors view them as they are trapped, in Uganda; a game drive through any of the national parks exposes a visitor to these wild animals as they graze and hunt for food. You may wonder how this is possible to view these dangerous animals at a close range but with the protection of well trained guides, you can views these wild animals clearly at a close range without any attack.
