Increase in Wildlife Species improves Uganda’s Tourism

Uganda also known as the’’ pearl of Africa’’ is a home to very many incredible wildlife species which have attracted a very huge number of travelers to this East African country. Uganda is a home to over 10 national parks, a number of wildlife reserves, and protected areas like the Uganda wildlife education center among others. All these places are a home to very many species of wildlife attracting many visitors to have a glance at them hence increasing the revenue collection by the government. Each Uganda national park offers unique features which have attracted very many visitors.

Mountain gorillas are the major attraction in Uganda and whenever Uganda is mentioned, many people’s mind rush to the endangered mountain gorillas. They are habituated in two national parks that’s Bwindi impenetrable national park and Mgahinga gorilla forest national park both located in the southwestern part of Uganda. Other primate species include the black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies. Not only in Kibale but chimps can also be tracked in Queen Elizabeth national park, Budongo forest and Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary.

Apart from primate species, Uganda holds unique wild animals some of which are rarely seen elsewhere in the world, these include elephant, leopard, hippopotamus, crocodile, buffaloes, various species of antelopes like the Uganda kobs, bush back, giant forest hogs, water buck among others, zebra, wildebeest, black and white Rhino, cheetah, wild dog and the tree climbing lions among others are just a few among the many wild animals found in Uganda. A game drive to see these animals in a 4×4 tourist vehicle is a memorable experience. However, hippos and crocodile are seen during a 2 hours boat cruise along the Nile River in Murchison falls and at kazinga channel that connects lakes George and Edward in Queen Elizabeth national park and also on the lake Mburo national park all offers a unique experience.
