How many People per Gorilla Family
Gorilla trekking in Uganda is carried out every day and all year round in two of Uganda’s National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda with over 19 Gorilla habituated families making it the highest number of National Park with a number of gorilla families in Africa. Such families are divided into four sectors which include the Buhoma sector has four families which clued Habinyanja, Mubare, Rushegura, and Katwe. Ruhija sector has four families which include Kyaguriro, Bitukura, Oruzoog, and Mukiza. Nkuringo sector has 3 gorilla families which include Bushaho, Christmas, and Nkuringo. And the Rushaga sector has 8 families which include Bweza, Nshongi, Mishaya, Busingye, Kahungye, Bikyingi, Mucunguzi, and kutu.
Above all, only a maximum of 8 people are allowed to trek each gorilla family per day per hour, this makes up a total number of 152 people per day in 19 different gorilla families in Bwindi National Park.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in the southern corner of Uganda bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park has one gorilla family which known as the Nyakagezi, Nyakagezi gorilla family group is made of 10 individuals with silverback known as Mark and some of the other members include; Mathew, Nshuti, Baby Rukundo, Mutagamba, Nvuyekure, mark and Bugingo, Marfia, Ndungutse, Nyiramwiza, Furraha, and Nkanda. and more. There are only 8 permits sold every day for Nyakagezi family and only 8 people who visited Nyakagezi gorilla family per and all year round. To see the gorillas, you have to trek into the mountain forest. And the only way to do that is to obtain a gorilla permit, a gorilla permit is a document that allows you to spend one hour with Mountain Gorillas in their environment, a gorilla permit in Uganda cost $ 600 all year around
