Gorilla Trekking Permits Uganda and Rwanda

When planning a gorilla visit to Rwanda or Uganda, it’s very important to secure your gorilla permit in advance at least 2-5 months prior to your trekking dates. Either through your travel company organizing your safari or from the Uganda wildlife Authority (UWA) or through Rwanda development board (RDB). When you book a gorilla safari with us a gorilla permit is included in the price quotation, when a permit is paid we normally send you a copy of scanned copy of your permit to be sure that your permit is available and you are assured of trekking these endangered species in their natural habitats. In Uganda gorilla permits cost USD 600 per person per tracking including a park entry fee and ranger guides; you can get them at the UWA headquarters in Kampala Uganda’s capital and its largest city.

In Rwanda permits are sold through the Rwanda Tourism Offices (ORTPN) in Kigali or Ruhengeri (near volcanoes national park) and they cost USD750 per person per tracking. It’s always advised to book your gorilla permit through a tour company since they have easy access to these permits, tour companies have over 80% chances of getting gorilla permits in advance, so it may take long to acquire gorilla permit when doing it yourself.
