You will enjoy the magnificent views of Lake Wamala, Mubende Hills where you will have a stopover at the Nakayima Tree then proceed until Fort Portal. Take a tour of the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru Caves (the breast-like features whose mysterious existence impresses more than the scientific formation) then continue to Kibale Forest National Park
for dinner, relaxation and overnight at Primate Lodge (luxury), Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse for midrange or Kanyanchu River Camp for budget while the meal plan is lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking, visit Bigodi wetland Sanctuary and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have breakfast from the Lodge and continue to Kanyanchu visitor center for a pre-tracking briefing before eventually starting the track to search for the chimpanzee community. This trek usually lasts one hour to 5 hours with other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoests monkeys as well as black and white colobus monkeys in addition to several other tree species likely to be encountered. Also, a variety of bird species will be encountered, thus making the activity worthwhile. Get back to the Lodge for lunch and continue for the tour of Bigodi wetland Sanctuary where several primates including the grey-cheeked mangabeys as well as over 200 aquatic and wetland bird species such as the great blue turaco can be spotted. Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (upmarket), Enganzi Lodge (midrange) or Kazinga Channel View Resort (basic) while the meal plan is full board.
Day 3: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast (tea, coffee or fresh fruit juice), there will be a game drive within savannah landscapes of the Kasenyi Plains and Mweya Peninsular where numerous wildlife species including warthogs, elands, Lions, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, hyenas, and buffaloes will be spotted. After 2-3 hours of the game drive, return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation.
You will then have to continue for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel where an array of aquatic bird species including pelicans, African fish eagles and Kingfishers will be spotted. Also, elephants and buffaloes will be sighted at the banks of the Channel as well as hippos and crocodiles in the water.
The meal plan is full board while overnight and dinner will be at Mweya Safari Lodge (upmarket), Enganzi Game Lodge (midrange) or Kazinga Channel View Resort (basic).
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Ishasha sector
Have breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the haven to the endangered mountain gorillas through the famous Ishasha sector for the rare tree climbing lions that are always seen relaxing on fig branches. Also, other wildlife species such as buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, elephants, and waterbucks can be sighted during the drive through Ishasha. Lunch will be at Savannah Resort Hotel (Kihihi) and arrival to the gorilla trekking destination is in the evening.
