Feel the thrill of Uganda’s smallest savannah park, Lake Mburo
Located in the west of Uganda, Lake Mburo National park connects Kampala to other parks in the west of this East African country. It is on the highway as you drive to the country’s most gifted part when it comes to tourism fraternities and visitors on their way are attracted by the wonderful look of the park which induces them to have a stopover for some hours. In case one has never visited the park, he/she can wrongly think that a safari to Mburo is not worthy but after personally visiting, the lifetime experience is just enough to change the attitude.
With Uganda having 10 National Parks, Lake Mburo is one of those few where a visitor can have a lifetime experience which is hard to forget. The diversity of tourism wonders at the park is of the unique guarantees one should expect unlike other parks where there are a few attractions. While at the park, the truth about Africa’s beauty is exhibited as the magnificent green vegetation covers your eyes plus other eye-catching tree species among which are those only found in this “pearl of Africa”. Its splendid nature interspersed with rock ridges and the forests are mainly covered with rare woodlands including the papyrus swamps. It is not yet clear why Lake Mburo is more preferred by tourists than other big parks but one of the things is its uniqueness and spending adventures.
On a safari to the park, there are numerous activities one can participate in and these include;-
Bird watching: With the presence of over 350 bird species, bird lovers can never skip this wonderful park. These can easily be watched as one moves across the park as they fly over and around the whole area. However, visitors interested in viewing these birds are advised to carry a pair of binoculars along with them since there are some small birds which are hard to see using naked eyes.
Game drive: You cannot forget the wide range of wild animals found at the park which are easily seen on a game drive. Some of the wildlife mammals one should expect on a trip to Lake Mburo include;- Zebras, buffaloes, elands, impalas, hippos, topi, reedbuck, hyena, leopards, Defassa waterbucks and many more. A drive through Mburo especially in the evenings is a thrilling adventure as you view some animals grazing in the plains and some gathered around water bodies trying to have a sip of the water to cool their bodies.
Boat trips & spot fishing: For visitors who love sailing on water and fishing, Mburo is the most ideal place to visit. The presence of an eye-catching lake with clear waters makes it easier for sailing across while having a clearer view of the whole park. If lucky, you may view some wild animals while on a boat ride as they come to have a sip of the water. The swamps on the Lake sides are just amazing to look at while in the middle of the lake.
