Busowoko Waterfalls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Uganda. It is a hidden tourism site worth exploring on Uganda safaris. Located in Jinja, Eastern Uganda, Busowoko is one location you should expect to visit for a fun-filling experience with your dear ones.

At Busowoko, expect to enjoy great views of the waterfalls, and take lots of incredible photos. This waterfall is located in Bususwa (Bukongo) village, Kitanaba Sub-county 19 km from Jinja city. The present location of Busowoko and Beach was just an abandoned forested area. It was referred to as the land or home to spirits. Access to Busowoko Falls

Busowoko Falls is a magnificent waterfall located in Jinja, Eastern Uganda. Getting there is possible on Kimaka to Budondo to Kibibi route. From Kampala, you need about 1-2 hours to drive. A visit to this waterfall requires UGX 30,000 for Ugandans while non-Ugandans need shs. 50,000.

Other than exploring Busowoko Waterfalls, there is also possibility of visiting other places such as Buikwe, Kayunga, Jinja, Kitamilo and Luuka town.

You may also consider visiting other waterfalls in and around Jinja including;

  • Itanda Falls –Located in Jinja, the Itanda Falls is a stunning waterfall, a hidden treasure worth visiting if you are an enthusiastic kayaker or rafter. This waterfall is 27 km off from Jinja and remains as a popular unspoiled waterfall.
  • Bujagali Falls- Lying on the Nile River, 10 km away from Jinja, Bujagali waterfall is a popular location for white water rafting adventures, canoeing, tubing, kayaking and birding.
  • Griffin Falls –The Griffin waterfall is set in the heard of Mabira Forest, also an excellent area for guided nature walks or enjoy zip lining. Guests on a tour to Griffin Fall can also book Griffin Falls Camp for a night stay.
