Air Tanzania Begins Flights to Uganda
With an ever increasing travel demand in East Africa, air travel in the region has been a huge challenge for most travelers on safari in Africa. For long, travelers had to endure with stressful connecting options between routes before reaching the final destination a case in point is Uganda. Flights between Tanzania and the pearl of Africa required travelers to first take a flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya or Kigali International Airport in Rwanda something that is not only costly but also time wasting. In order to address this challenge in East Africa, Air Tanzania being one of the best airlines that offer excellent flight services in the region will now be offering direct flights to Uganda. It will be conducting its passenger flights to Entebbe International Airport and also to Bujumbura in Burundi. Flights to Entebbe Airport kick started on Sunday 26th August 2018 with a 76 Seater Q400 series plane that landed into country and honored with a water salute as this has always been the customary welcome trait in the aviation sector. The move is expected to ease connection between these 2 (two) East African States and at the end, boost trade.
Flights are expected to be pocket friendly and will be conducted 4 times a week to Entebbe Airport that is every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. For those of you who will be connecting up to Bujumbura, flights will be conducted 3 times a week and that is every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The cost of flights for this route can go even less than $358 and $390 if you are traveling to Bujumbura and Dar-es-Salaam through Kigali, Nairobi, or Addis Ababa. Air Tanzania will be connecting travelers from Dar-es-Salaam, Arusha and Kilimanjaro. Besides the low costs, travelers will also have opportunity to customize their journeys based on their travel budget and needs as excess luggage will be accepted and also issuing tickets that do not expire. In addition to easy connectivity, these direct flights will also boost investment and open more tourism opportunities in the region. While this has been sighted as a great achievement in air travel sector, the already dominant airlines will however face competition especially Kenya Airways and Rwandair.
