Climate of Uganda: Uganda has endowed with numerous natural forests which has determined Uganda’s equatorial climate such as Mabira forest, Budongo forest, Maramagambo forest, and Mpanga forest and so on, the topography with high mountains, hills and has also influenced the climate of Uganda. Uganda enjoys tropical weather which is perfect all year round with temperatures between 16-28°C for most of the year.

However, Uganda’s highest temperatures occur on the plains of the east of Lake Albert, while the lowest has been received on the glacial peaks of mount Rwenzori. The Rainfall patterns regionally widely defer but the Lake Victoria and western regions can receive rainfall any time of the year. Uganda has two seasons, the wet and dry season which usually takes place in the year.

Dry Weather in Uganda is the best weather can be June-July and January-February where there are little rainfall and plenty of sun and this makes the best time to visit Uganda on your safari. The best time for viewing wildlife is at the end of the dry season since animals concentrate on water points. Trekking is also best during the dry season.

Wet Weather in Uganda is the worst weather can be in the months of March, April and May which is the peak of the wet season and makes it a low season for a safari in Uganda. The heavy rain, cracking with thunder, can come at any time but only lasts short durations and minutes later the sun is out.

Most regions of Uganda, apart from the dry areas in the northeast, have an annual rainfall of between 1,000mm and 2,000mm. There is heavy rain between March and May and between October and November when road travel can become difficult in some parts especially upcountry remote areas. The best time for trekking is during the dry seasons, between January and February and June to September. Wildlife viewing is best at the end of the dry seasons when the game is more concentrated around water sources.
