3 Days Murchison Falls Safari takes safari enthusiasts through an exciting 5-6 hours’ drive to the north-western side of Uganda so as to explore the country’s prime and largest National Park. The journey involves a number of stopovers including the popular Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track Uganda’s only wild Rhino population, at Luwero to get some of the organic tropical fruits and lunch break in Masindi Town before arriving Murchison Falls National Park-home to the magnificent Murchison Falls characterized by waters of the Nile River forcing through a narrow gorge of 7 meters and enjoy a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the Falls as well as game viewing along the different game tracks.
Murchison Falls National Park offers shelter to over 76 species of mammals including four of the big five animals that include lions, leopards, Elephants and buffaloes, the Rothschild’s giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, Topis, elands and oribis among others in addition to being a home to more than 451 bird species, hence making it one of the country’s Important Birding Areas (IBAs).

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park and hike to the top of the falls
Begin the day with an early morning breakfast at the Hotel before being picked at 7:00 am by our driver/guide for a 5-6 hours’ drive to Murchison Falls National Park through the Kampala-Luwero-Nakasongola-Masindi road. Have a stopover at Luwero Town to purchase some of the sweet and organic Tropical fruits including pineapples, jackfruits, yellow bananas, and passion fruit.
Continue with the journey and upon reaching Nakasongola district, you will branch off and continue to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track one of the rarest big five animals-Rhinos and a visit to this place introduces you to the country’s only surviving white rhino population. Lunch will be at the Masindi Hotel.
The drive from the hotel in Masindi to Murchison Falls National Park lasts about 20-30 minutes, and access to the Park is through the Kichombanyobo gate. Entrance here guarantees Paradise on earth with numerous wildlife species with the first being the olive baboons that welcome you to Uganda’s prime and most outstanding National Park. As you are driven to the Lodge, you will see the warthogs, Uganda Kobs, and waterbucks among others.
Proceed for the relatively difficult hike to the top of the falls where you will relish the mind-blowing views of the Murchison falls from the top and descend to be transferred to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Early Morning Game Drive and afternoon launch cruise in Murchison Falls National park
Have a delicious breakfast and leave for the morning game drive with animals to look-out for being the lions, hyenas, and leopards returning from hunting as well as the giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs and elands. This 2-3 hours’ activity will also allow you to see some bird species that call the Park home.
The Nile River dissects Murchison Falls National Park into the Southern and Northern sections, but the latter is biologically richer than the former hence the reason is loved for game viewing. However, if the accommodation facility booked is within the southern section, ferry crossing to the northern side will be required.
You will be back from the game drive by 11:00 or 11:30 am and continue for lunch as well as relaxation. Thereafter head for a launch cruise along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls where you will see the giant Hippos and Nile crocodiles as well as antelopes, buffaloes, and elephants on the banks as well as the aquatic bird species that include kingfishers and pelicans. Day 3: Game drive and travel to Kampala
Enjoy the last breakfast of the 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari and head for another game drive that will give chances of sighting wildlife species that were previously not sighted in the previous day. After 2 hours, return to the Lodge for check-out and drive to Kampala using the northern gate where you will spend a few minutes seeing the phenomenal Karuma falls before proceeding with the journey. You will have a lunch break at Kabalega Diners and continue straight to Kampala (to your preferred drop-off point).
