A gorilla permit is a license document issued to the traveler allowing them to see rare mountain gorillas for about one in their wild. A gorilla Permit issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority which located in Kampala- Kiira road next to Uganda Museum. A gorilla permit in Uganda is used in two National Parks, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in southwest of Uganda in Kabale district which sites on an area of about 331 square kilometers bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the western side and Rwanda in south which takes about 460 km from Kampala city and is a home to over half the world’s mountain gorilla population in the world.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located in the southwestern corner of Uganda bordering Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and is the best spot ever for a golden monkey with over 4000 golden monkeys are found in the jungle. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park lies 33.7 sq. km and consists of the partly forested slopes of three extinct volcanoes. Mt. Muhavura, Mt. Gahinga and Mt. Sabinyo with about 10 km south of Kisoro and is bordered to the south by the Republic of Rwanda and to the west by the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The gorilla permit in Uganda cost $ 600.00 per person per trek and there are 19 gorilla families in Bwindi National Park and one gorilla family in Mgahinga National Park, each family visited 8 people per day per trek making it 160 gorilla permit sold every day in total. A gorilla permit ties up with Park entrance, ranger guide and certificate of participation in conserving the mountain gorilla in their wild. One must be above 15 years-of-age.
A traveler who interested in acquiring these gorilla permits can contact us to inquire about the availability of the permits in specified days of their interest. Once it is confirmed that the gorilla permits are available for the dates you wish to travel, you will be given the Company’s Bank account where you can make payments for your gorilla safari without any additional cost for gorilla permit. In case you don’t wish to book for the entire safari with us, can still acquire for you that permit but you will be required to pay a commission. Once payments are made, permits will be acquired from UWA after inquiring about your passport details (name, country, passport number). A scanned copy of the permit will be sent to you to confirm your participation in gorilla trekking.
